The Matt Cooke debate is like Afghanistan; it is never going to end, everyone has an opinion, and no one is going to be able to change that opinion it. We all have our opinions of Matt Cooke, good, bad, or somewhere in between, and it isn't going to change because of what someone we may have never met in real life on a website is telling us. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and I am all for a good debate but honestly I think this is getting a little old. At some point, someone is going to personally attack someone else become quite frustrated that they can't convince that person that their thought process is completely false and should feel stupid for thinking that way . They may or may not regret it later on but it will most likely happen sooner than later. I myself am trying to stay open minded about the situation and will leave it at that. All you have to do is look through the comments from the past few days to see what every registered member on this site thinks about Matt Cooke and the Wild signing him.
We will never all agree about this man (some here may not even consider him a "man" but that is beside the point). Now it is definitely not my place, being just a young member of this wonderful site, but I think it would be great if we could just accept what everyone else thinks of Cooke and we wait to criticize or defend Cooke if/when he screws up. If you truly want to continue the debate over Cooke, go for it. I'm absolutely in no position to stop you but I think there has been plenty said by now and we should just move on. It happened and like it or not Cooke is on the our favorite team for the next three years unless he is traded, bought out, retires, or is banned from the league.
For those who don't feel like looking through the the past Walks and the Matt Cooke signing post, here are a couple videos, an audio clip, and an article from Russo regarding Matt Cooke. The two videos are from the 2010-2011 season and the material from Russo is from yesterday.
Matt Cooke's interview from yesterday with Russo at about twenty minutes into hour 2.
And finally, Russo's thoughts after interviewing Cooke and having Greg Wyshynski on the program on Monday.
For those of you who have actually made it this far into my probably poorly written post, thank you for reading. I enjoy this website and think everyone here is great. Now, let's all just laugh together at Robert Griffin III's attempt to rap (I think he should just stick with Football).
