There is nothing like a beatdown to one of the worst teams in the league to build up the confidence, and forget about the weirdness that was last week. The newly acqruired Matt Moulson picked up right where he left of, scoring two goals in his return to long island. It was Minnesota's most lopsided victory yet, and with 11 games remaining, those are needed for the confidence.
Now onto tonight, a tougher opponent in the New Jersey Devils, where the Wild are 1-3-2 in their history at the Prudential Center. The Wild won the first meeting against the Devils with a 4-0 shutout victory back in St. Paul in November. Jags is
gonna be a treat to watch, having netted 15 points in 14 career games against Minnesota. Oh yeah totally forgot that Zach Parise is playing as a guest in New Jersey tonight, so that's pretty cool. Parise was selected 17th overall by New Jersey in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft and totaled 410 points (194-216=410) in 502 games in his Devils career.
We do know it will be Ilya Bryzgalov vs. Cory Schneider between the pipes tonight. Schneider is 6-5-0 with a 2.21 GAA and a .917 SV% in 11 starts against Minnesota. Bryz has had good success against New Jersey in the past, with two career shutouts in 11 starts, posting a 2.07 GAA.
Puck drops in New Jersey at 6 central. The game can be watched on the NHL network and heard on 100.3 FM KFXN in the Twin Cities.
