The Toronto Maple Leafs (Leafs blog) claimed Dominic Moore off waivers last night and the 27 year old defenseman jumped on a Canadian bound flight with great hopes.
"It should be great. I'm excited for the opportunity," said Moore, who grew up in the northern Toronto suburb of Thornhill, Ontario. "I'm very excited to be going back. I grew up watching the Maple Leafs."
The Maple Leafs need his defensive skills (I guess they have lower expectations for their players than the Minnesota Wild) and the Wild were ready to move him down anyway. At this point I am wishing the Wild wouldn’t have traded that third round draft pick to get Moore – he never quite worked out the way I had hoped he would . . . you know score a few goals, help us win the game etc. Best of luck with Leafs!
