Minnesota Wild lose to San Jose Sharks

Wild 2, Sharks 3

A New Years Eve game against one of the best NHL road teams is never an easy task and the San Jose Sharks made sure of it. The Sharks beat the Minnesota Wild 3-2, winning their 10th consecutive road victory at the Xcel Energy Center St Paul.

Dominic Moore and Mark Parrish both scored for the Wild, but Jonathan Cheechoo (who has his own website!) put in the game winner for the Sharks just seconds after the Wild tied the game.

"We worked hard to get tied, then a weird bounce and they score from it," Wild Goalie Niklas Backstrom said. "It was a tough goal for us."

It was a tough game for the Minnesota Wild team that wanted badly to win in front of another sell out crowd at the X. The New Years Eve Minnesota Wild hockey game is always a favorite in the state of hockey and there were a lot of sad Wild fans ringing in the New Year.
