Wilderness Walk for 1-25-2010

New, comments

Wow. You know it's a bad day in Minnesota when there are no news stories about the Wild. OK, there are a couple, but not many. Here are your time wasters for today. The saddest part? Work may actually have to be done today. Ugh.

First things first:

Daily Norseman - SBNation's Home of the 2008 and 2009 NFC North Champions, the Minnesota Vikings!  - Condolences to our friends over at Daily Norseman. The Vikes just could not put it together. We feel your pain.

Defending Big D raises money for Haiti - An excellent effort for an excellent cause. They raised $385 last night. Great work, Brandon and to all of those who contributed.

Russo for Shorty Award - Please, keep the word out. Russo needs more votes. Some guy from ESPN is in the lead. That's just not right.

Wild News:

Goalie Lives Dream, Makes Impression - Pretty cool stories coming out of the skills competition yesterday.

As goalie, he took a novel approach | StarTribune.com - A good story about Shep Harde, one of the Wild front office guys.

Minnesota Wild's skills competition all fun and games - TwinCities.com - Pioneer Press' take on the skills comp.

Other News:

Pond Hockey Championships Canceled - Rain and warm temps forced them to cancel the tourny before the championship games could be played. Maybe next year.

Canuck notebook: Canucks send message to CBC with silence - Interesting little bit about the 'Nucks boycotting interviews with CBC & HNIC. I like it. What say you?

Hitting The Post: NHL Recap 1-24-10: Potent Pittsburgh power play?; Ward sets franchise record - KiPA's NHL Re-cap. Please do visit.

That's it. Yep. That's all you get. Today is for mourning the Vikings' loss. Take care of each other.
