Apologies on the late nature of the Walk today. Not that you care, but no school today means I got to sleep in. It was awesome.

Today's Walk is a good one. It should be. With nearly every seat in the press box full last night, there should be more news coming out of this game than out of Chile. Don't count on that every game. Edmonton travels with a ton of media, and opening night draws local media that is not normally in attendance. It'll thin out a bit. No matter who writes, we'll bring it to you. It's what we do.

Also, stay tuned for some fun with words later today, as one of the aforementioned "media who won't be there" has a column from last night's game that I may or may not disagree with. Read: I disagree with it. Enjoy your day, all.

Wild News:

Cullen has no complaints about Xcel opener | - Cullen was, as JS would say, "a beast" last night. Truly impressive in all aspects of the game. Best signing for Chuck Fletcher yet? Looking good so far.

Flipping the switch | - Russo's gamer, with some of the best writing you will ever get in a gamer. "Cool, calm and collected, the savvy veteran nonchalantly reset, found a narrow passing lane and slid a buckshot through a cobweb of sticks to the back door, where Mikko Koivu buried the puck for the tying tally." A buckshot through a cobweb. Well done, sir. Well done.

Madden collects more Cup bling | - I was kind of hoping he would say he was going to borrow it to Staubitz to wear while fighting, but I guess that would be asking too much. And Staubitz isn't Sheldon Souray...

Wild wins 9th straight home opener, beats Oilers 14th straight time at home | - Russo's Rants from after the game.

Tom Powers: 'Hardworking' Wild have to produce more than effort - - You will see more of this article today. Enjoy.

Matt Cullen fuels Minnesota Wild's power-play surge in 4-2 win - - Bruce Brothers with his gamer.

KiPA's Korner:

Hitting The Post: Night of firsts; Calgary closing gap for "worst" - More fun with KiPA. Where else do you get this kind of NHL wrap up? Nowhere, that's where.
