Brent Burns Named to 2011 All-Star Game

New, comments

With the strong disdain that most Minnesotans carry for the NHL All-Star game, it could be difficult for any Wild player to ever be voted into the game. It is excellent, then, that the league finally got something right and today named Brent Burns to the 2011 NHL All-Star game.

It is not difficult to understand why Burns got the nod. Leading the team in goals, having a great year defensively, and finally coming into his own, like we always knew he could. Fully healthy for the first time in a long stretch, Burns is playing the game he is capable of, and is still getting better. Clearly a fan favorite, Burns finally gets the recognition he has long deserved.

Congrats, Brent. It is an honor well deserved.

I have not seen an official release from the team, nor from the NHL, but if Russo says it is so, you can bet that it is so. When the official announcement is made, we'll post the releases here for your viewing pleasure.
