Wilderness Walk for 12-27-2011

First question - anyone else hurt over night? Any Wild players toe pick while walking along the side walk?

Quite a day, eh? Mikko Koivu returns to the ice, Jared Spurgeon gets shoved into the boards, Wild lose seven straight. Last night, you all read the stat from Elias Sports: The Minnesota Wild become the first team since the 1999 Colorado Avalanche to win seven straight and then immediately follow that with a seven game losing streak. Clearly this is a bad omen, and the Wild are going to regress so hard they miss the playoffs, right?

Well, the 1999 Colorado Avalanche won the Northwest, finished third in the West, and lost in the Western Conference Finals. Any Wild fans going to complain about that if that is the end result? Didn't think so.

Always remember that stats need context.

After the jump, your links and news.

I considered a post about this and then figured it was wasted energy. Good to see the biggest name in hockey blogs taking a poke, though. Maybe they'll listen. Yeah, right.

To lighten the mood a bit:

Enjoy your day, all.
