The question asked in each of these posts is simple - what does the team need? Looking at the Calgary Flames, despite where they finished in the standings, the team needs everything. They had the 10th highest salary (per Cap Geek), and finished 17th in the league. They have a bevvy of aging, overpaid, under performing stars, and a disaster in the front office.
But you can't draft a GM, so they will have to settle for a player that they can later trade for someone's leftover hockey tape.
Still plenty of talent on the board. Swallow the bile down, and help the Flames make their pick.
