The Minnesota Wild have activated oft-injured right-wing turned left wing Pierre-Marc Bouchard off of the injured reserve list, per Russo. Bouchard, as everyone here knows, spent the last 403 days on the IR (not hyperbole) after being slammed from behind by the Winnipeg jets' Zach Bogosian (not hyperbole).
Here is the hit, for those who wish to remember:
Bouchard has slipped down the depth chart in his absence, moving from a potential first line player, to a fringe second liner, and now to the third line with Cal Clutterbuck and Kyle Brodziak. How that line will work out, and how well a third line role will fit with Bouchard's style of play and skill set will be a big question in the 2013 season. If Bouchard can stay healthy, the Wild could potentially roll three lines that are a threat to score.
No matter what happens from here on out, here's to hoping Bouchard can stay healthy and in the lineup. It is only good for everyone involved.
