Wilderness Walk 11-19-2013: Game Day Edition

The Wild travel to Montreal to face off against the Canadiens tonight.

Richard Wolowicz

Good morning Wilderness! In a stark contrast from my Walk schedule last week where I had no game day walks to put together, this is my second for this week. The Minnesota Wild square off against the Montreal Canadiens tonight and are looking to extend their winning ways on road.

The Wild also traded backup goalies with Iowa yesterday, sending Johan Gustofsson back to Iowa to bring Darcy Kuemper on the road with them while Nicklas Backstrom recovers from a concussion. The Wild have been winning a lot lately, but have been playing at home as well. It time to take this test on the road, it is nice that it's against the East who seem to struggle against the dominant West.

NHL Power Rankings: Defensive issues aside, Blackhawks back on top - NHL -
As this weeks power rankings start coming out we are starting to see the Wild make a significant push towards the lower numbers. This isn't some chump at Bleacher Report just throwing numbers out randomly (Wild ranked 2 on BR), much more realistic over at CBS Sports.
