Noon Number (November 29th): 16.087

New, comments

It's the final Noon Number of the week. This one is about individual shot attempts.

Russell LaBounty-USA TODAY Sport

In case you missed yesterday's Noon Number because you were busy celebrating Thanksgiving, you should read it now.

Today, I'm looking at "iCorsi", which refers to the number of shot attempts (goals, shots, missed shots, blocked shots) each player generates while they are on the ice.

-Here are the "iCorsi/60" rankings for Wild players who have played at least 50 minutes this season:

  • No surprise to see Parise, Koivu and Pominville in the top-5.
  • Jason Zucker is the surprise leader at this point. If he keeps generating shot attempts at that rate, he should score a pretty reasonable amount of goals this year.
  • Mikael Granlund needs to shoot the puck more. His main skill is his playmaking, but we've seen this year that he has a pretty good shot too when he uses it.
