Weekly Wrap Up

Wild: The Wild faced the Columbus Blue Jackets and former coach Todd Richards on January 29th for a 3-2 win for Niklas Backstrom. Goals were scored by Koivu, Gilbert and Bouchard. The following night, they faced the Chicago Blackhawks for a 3-2 shootout win. Josh Harding was pulled after allowing 2 goals and replaced with Nik Backstrom. Goals were scored by Matt Cullen and Cal Clutterbuck with Matt Cullen again scoring the shootout winner. Friday would see them making a west coast swing over to Anaheim to face the Ducks for a 1-3 loss. Backstrom was again in net with the goal coming from Scandella. Monday, the Wild would be in Pheonix with Backstrom between the pipes for 1-n loss. The lone goal was scored by Zach Parise. The Wild face the Canucks on Thursday.

Aeros: The Aeros were in action against the Texas Stars on Friday, February 1. Darcy Kuemper was between the pipes for a 1-2 loss and the lone goal was scored by Larsson. On the 3rd, they faced the Rockford Ice Hogs for a 3-2 win for Kuemper. Goals were scored by Medvec, Bulmer and McIntyre. The following night, Matt Hackett would get the start against the San Antonio Rampage for a 2-5 loss. The goals came from Zucker and Rau. The Aeros are in action next against the Grand Rapids Griffins in Grand Rapids tonight.

Solar Bears: The Solar Bears were defeated in a shootout on January 30th by the Greenville Road Warriors in a 3-4 loss. In the net was Patrick Killeen, and goals were scored by Cruthers and 2 by Neal. The following night, they were again in action against the Road Warriors, and this time, defeated them 3-2. Patrick Killeen again got the start and goals were scored by Severyn, Mignardi and Dries. Saturday, they were in action against the Trenton Titans for a 6-4 win. Patrick Killeen was between the pipes and goals were scored by Sisca, Ginand, Lawrence, Severyn, Blair and Cruthers. The Solar Bears are next in action on Thursday against the Florida Everblades.


The Orlando Solar Bears will be holding a Celebrity Hockey game on March 2nd to benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Central Florida. More Information here
