Calder Cup Playoffs: Aeros v. Griffins game thread

New, comments

Aeros up in the series 1-0, with the last game in Houston of the series.

Morris Molina – Houston Aeros

It's game day for the Aeros today. Puck drop is at 5:05pm in Houston for what could be the last game the Aeros play at the Toyota Center. After tonight, the last 3 games of the best-of-5 Calder Cup playoff round will be played in Grand Rapids.

The Aeros took control of the series with a 3-0 win on Friday night. Darcy Kuemper played an amazing game, and the Aeros made it clear that if he does his part, the rest of the team will do anything they can to get the win.

The Aeros will be missing Jason Zucker, who as everyone knows was recalled to Minnesota for yesterdays PLAYOFF CLINCHING WIN against the Avs last night. It's a pretty likely that a few more players may be recalled now that the Wild don't have to worry about a limited roster or the cap in the playoffs.

Mikael Granlund was a bit unsung hero last game, where he increased his physical presence ten-fold. Erik Haula had a nice assist, and looks to be making a decent impact on the team already. Mathew Dumba has been playing limited minutes as well.

Make sure you tune in and send some good playoff juju to the Aeros. You can catch the game on ahl live(costs money), or listen to the radio feed on KNTH 1070am in Houston.
