Wilderness Walk: 5-6-2013: Something to Write Home About Edition

Your Minnesota Wild put the dagger in the Chicago Blackhawks yesterday afternoon with an overtime goal coming off the Wild's speedy forward Jason Zucker's stick.

Pure joy!
Pure joy!

Jason Zucker ladies and gentlemen!

And how about that effort from Matt Cullen! Hot Damn folks, we have a series! The Minnesota Wild get on the board and have cut the Chicago Blackhawks series lead in half at 2-1. If you were looking at game 1 and said, "Damn, that was our shot. How are the Wild going to match that intensity again?" Well, I present to you game 3 and an overtime victory courtesy of Jason Zucker from Matt Cullen's super-human effort.

I would also like to welcome the newest native to the State of Hockey, Mr. Michael Russo:

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-conversation="none"><p>@<a href="">russostrib</a> you are a Minnesota native, covering the Wild in your profession. They won. Hmm.</p>&mdash; Tyson Fedor (@RealTSN_TFedor) <a href="">May 6, 2013</a></blockquote>

So welcome Mr. Russo, I think you'll like it here. People are nice, we have a lot of lakes and love us some hockey. So kick off your shoes and stick around for awhile, would ya?

An early snore-fest turned into an old-school hockey game and got out of hand fast. Best picture I saw of this game yesterday was of the bench after a huge brawl, 5 skaters left on 1, 6 left on the other as action resumed.
