Since 2010, the Boston Bruins have lost Game 1 of a playoff series 5 times, including this year's Stanley Cup Final. While we don't yet know the result of this year's Stanley Cup series, the other four instances of the Bruins losing Game 1 have seen them rally back to win each one.
No, seriously, look at it:
2013: Stanley Cup Final v. Chicago: ???
2011: Stanley Cup Final v. Vancouver: Lost Games 1 and 2, Won in 7.
2011: Eastern Conference Final v. Tampa Bay: Lost Game 1, Won in 7.
2011: Eastern Conference Quarterfinal v. Montreal: Lost Game 1, Won in 7.
2010: Eastern Conference Quarterfinal v. Buffalo: Lost Game 1, Won in 6.
You aren't going to win a Cup without showing resiliency, and Boston has shown that in spades. It's a team with all the size, skill, goaltending, and toughness that you'd ever want in a hockey team- not a team that should go down easily.
So why, when Hockey Wilderness posts their series predictions, did I predict a Chicago sweep? Because I'm sick of no one predicting sweeps.
