Wilderness Walk 6-2-2013: Conference Finals Edition

The East and the West kicked off their respective conference finals Saturday with the Los Angeles Kings visiting the Chicago Blackhawks while the Pittsburgh Penguins played host to the Boston Bruins.

Good morning Wilderness, and welcome to-day 2 of our very own NHL Mock Draft. The draft resumes today at 10 am CST and currently Buffalo is on the clock with the 8th overall pick.

Speaking of Day 2, it is also the 2nd official day in the #RaantaWatch as the world Edmonton hold its breath in hopes of landing the Finnish goaltender. From all accounts, this guy is a late bloomer, who is just now finding his game for Assat Pori of the SM-liiga league in Finland. During the regular season he posted a 21-10-11 record with a 1.85 GAA and .943 save percentage. In the playoffs he helped his team take home the title posting an incredible .955 save percentage and 1.45 GAA which was good enough to also nab him the Jarri Kurri Trophy which would be like taking home the Con Smythe Trophy here. From the sounds of it, he has made his decision on where to go, but mum's the word since that tweet went out Friday. So the #RaantaWatch continues...

We also kicked off a couple of Conference Finals yesterday as the Chicago Blackhawks took care of home ice defeating the Los Angeles Kings 2-1. Home ice was not so kind to the Pittsburgh Penguins however as the Boston Bruins jumped all over them, winning their series first game 3-0.
