Wild News to wrap up the last weekday in August.

You want links? Good. We got them.

I don't have a lot of words in me right now, so onto the Walk.

Wild News

Question for Chuck Fletcher? Come to State Fair today; More on Brunette and the power play | Russo's Rants | StarTribune.com- Russo provides more information on the power play changes. Get this- they want more of a net-front presence. Don't think we've heard that one before.

Hot August Nights: Minnesota Wild | III Communication- Brought to my attention yesterday in the comments- this is a blog called III Communication, which covers the Wild's division. They've got a Minnesota Wild preview for you.

The Team of 18,001: A New Face In The State Of Hockey: Matt Cooke- The State of Hockey sure loves them some Matt Cooke.

Tending the Fields

Talented prospects breaking into NHL lead the way in Minnesota Wild Top 20 - Hockey's Future- Slightly less helpful for the fact it lists Brodin and Coyle as prospects. Brodin, at the least, isn't a prospect anymore.

First Round Bust: Avery Peterson Commits To Nebraska-Omaha- First Round Bust has it's take on it.

Is Opportunity Knocking For Mathew Dumba?- It would be cool if he was ready, but I (as big of a Dumba fan as anyone) don't think he will be. We've been spoiled by Jonas Brodin. It'll be harder to keep him off the team next year, but this year, I don't think he gets more than the 9 game cup of coffee.

Off the Trail

Meet the Nashville Predators--Is Offense Improved From Last Season?- Probably, but in fairness, it can improve a lot and still suck.

Hot August Nights: Nashville Predators | III Communication- Another division preview from III Communication.

Celebrating the end of August, the worst month of the year for hockey fans (and writers) | Backhand Shelf- I've tempered my optimism that August will end. It sure doesn't seem possible.
