Wilderness Walk 9-17-2013: Preseason Game Day Edition

It has finally arrived Wilderness, your first Preseason Game Day Edition of the Walk!

Hannah Foslien

Unless the game is tomorrow I guess. If you read certain papers and online articles you may not quite know when the game really is, which can make a mess of your travel schedule if you're not careful. This guy has to be as happy as a camel on Wednesday. He is getting all sorts of traffic to his article and may or may not be vaguely aware why. Man, that camel commercial tickles my funny bone. It's so stupid yet I cannot help but to laugh.

Now that we've had our fun, let's get onto business. In case it's not abundantly clear to you, or if you're from the Hibbing area and have been grossly misinformed, the Minnesota Wild do indeed begin their preseason campaign tonight, at the Xcel Energy Center, 7 pm. The Columbus Blue Jackets have graciously accepted our invitation to St. Paul to help us kick off our preseason in style!

That's not entirely true actually. They are sending half the squad here as it appears the Blue Jackets have double booked today on the scheduled. My best guess is they send the B-squad on the road and the rest will stay in Columbus to take on the Buffalo Sabres.

Tonight's game unfortunately will not be televised nor do I believe the Wild have plans to stream it online. There will be a radio broadcast however for those of you a penchant for seeing the spoken word. FM 100.3 KFAN will kick off another Wild broadcasting season with the lovable Bob Kurtz and Tom Reid providing commentary.

I must apologize as well Wilderness as I dropped the ball in yesterday's walk. Now in case you missed it last night on Fox Sports North the Minnesota Wild kicked off their 3rd season of Becoming Wild with a day in the life of head coach Mike Yeo. Fortunately for all of us, you will be able to catch last nights Becoming Wild online and watch it over and over again.

It's time to wipe the bitter taste from game 5 out of our mouth Wilderness. The preseason is upon us, and the regular season is just 16 days away! You can get there if you run, but you won't get there any faster, and so we walk.
