Well we knew it had to happen eventually. The Wild lost to the Ducks in a chippy game in Anaheim. The good news: Darcy Kuemper set the franchise record for a shutout streak at 163 minutes, 46 seconds. He played excellent for his third straight game and bailed the Wild out on more than one occasion. The penalty kill remains perfect and looks miles ahead of last year.
The bad news: the team looked sluggish after a six day break with plenty of turnovers and breakdowns in all three zones. The power play has yet to connect and is -1 in three games.
Overall it was an okay road game, especially considering the awkward break. A lot of Wild fans were freaking out after the game about how the team has completely collapsed. Everyone can just relax, there are 79 more games left.
