Minnesota squares off against the artist formerly known as Phoenix.

The Wild continue their roadtrip tonight as they face off with the Coyotes. This is the second of three meetings between Arizona and Minnesota this season. Minnesota won the first game, 2-0 back on October 23rd. The all-time series between these two teams is pretty dead even, with Phoenix edging the Wild, 23-22-6. Last time out, Christian Folin netted his first career goal to tie the game at 1:03 in the third period before Joe Pavelski netted the game-winning goal 45 seconds later.

Minnesota did not participate in a pregame skate this morning, but it sounds like the same lineup for the Wild tonight. Niklas Backstrom is expected to start tonight, but things can always change. Backstrom is 14-10-0 with a 2.14 GAA, .931 SV% and three shutouts in 24 career starts against the Coyotes. Minnesota has won six of its last eight in Arizona and will hopefully be awake for a full 60 minutes. The Wild have looked like a completely different team when away from the Xcel Energy Center.

They have looked better recently winning four of its last six road games, but Thursday night game was a perfect example of how different the Wild can look. Minnesota failed to register 20 shots against the Sharks, despite averaging the second-most shots-per-game at 32.2. Check back at 6:45 for the gamethread and Go Wild!
