Preview: Flyers @ Wild

Mikael Granlund returns and Stu Bickel will dress tonight.

Tonight the Wild will look to head into the holiday break in winning fashion, as they host the Philadelphia Flyers. Last Saturdays game was ugly. Darcy Kuemper was pulled for the fourth time in five starts. Despite Thomas Vanek tying the game with under a minute left, Minnesota fell in overtime to Nashville, 6-5. Goaltending is the obvious bugaboo for the Wild, and Yeo hopes the holiday break will do wonders for Kuemper.  Erik Haula and Justin Fontaine will be scratched as Stu Bickel will dress tonight and Mikael Granlund returns to the linuep.

Mike Yeo hopes Bickel can throw his weight around tonight as teams have had success at the X lately. Matt Cooke returned to the lineup on Saturday and boy was his presence felt. Not to mention Cooke loves playing Philly, as his 12 goals are the most against any team. Zach Parise also loves those Flyers. Parise's 18 career goals against Philadelphia, are also his most against any team. The Wild won the first meeting between the two teams, 3-2, at Wells Fargo Arena (11/20). Since Nov. 28, all of the Wild’s 10 contests have been decided by one goal.

Philadelphia is in the midst of an EIGHT GAME roadtrip. Now there is a holiday break starting after tonight, but those folks at Disney have the Wells Fargo Center locked up. Yep, Disney On Ice Presents Frozen from Christmas through January 4. Minnesota is an all-time 6-9-1 against Philly, 3-2-1 at Xcel Energy Center. Check back at 6:45 for the gamethread. Go Wild.
