Iowa Wild’s week report

Here’s a recap of the Iowa Wild games that occurred in the past two weeks.

The Wild have played five games since the last report. They were in Grand Rapids (March 7th-8th), in Milwaukee (March 12th), then hosted San Antonio (March 16th) and finally, the Stars were in Des Moines last night.

In Grand Rapids, Cory Emmerton led the Griffins to a 4-0 victory in the first matchup. John Curry made 32 saves. Game highlights. In the second game, Iowa beat Grand Rapids 3-1 with goals from Brad Winchester, Marc Hagel and Warren Peters. Jonathon Blum had a two-assist night and Johan Gustafsson made 28 saves. In Milwaukee, the Wild were looking for revenge after getting destroyed 9-1 the last time they played there. Zack Phillips led the team to a 3-2 win with a 2-point night. Stephane Veilleux and Brett Bulmer were the other goal scorers for the Wild and Gustafsson made 30 saves. Game highlights.

Back in Des Moines, Raphael Bussieres opened the score with his 5th goal of the season. Iowa beat San Antonio 2-1. Steven Kampfer got the game winning goal. Gustafsson made 28 saves in the victory. Game highlights.

Last night, Brendan Ranford and the Texas Stars have snapped the three-game winning streak Iowa had. The Wild lost 4-2. Head coach Kurt Kleinendorst didn't sound too happy about this loss. Game highlights.

The Wild will host the Griffins twice (Tomorrow-Saturday), then the Charlotte Checkers will be in town to also play the Wild twice (Tuesday- Wednesday).

-Taylor Matson and Colton Jobke were reassigned to Orlando.

-As of today, the Wild are 12th in the Western Conference with 60 points in 61 games. That's one point ahead of the last place and nine less than the 8th position.
