Preview: Wild @ Stars

Wild carry their season high winning streak of 5 games into Dallas

Ronald Martinez

Tonight in the lone star state, we get to see our newest additons from the trade deadline. The frozen-fox in Chuck Fletcher, made not one, but two moves at the deadline acquiring; Matt Moulson, Cody McCormick and Ilya Bryzgalov. Moulson will play on the 2nd line tonight with Koivu and Coyle. Bryz will have to wait (and rightfully so) with Kuemper playing out of his mind. Darcy earned his 11th victory this season tying the Wild record for most wins by a rookie goalie in team history. Not to mention Since Jan. 7th, Kuemper is 11-2-2 with a 1.95 GAA, and a .934 SV% with two shutouts. He also leads the NHL in win percentage during that span too.

The captain Mikko Koivu retunred to the ice earlier this week, after missing 17 games due to ankle fracture. I know I'm not the only one gitty with excitement seeing how well Moulson could gell with Koivu. Granlund leads the Wild with 20 points (4-16=20) in the lat 25 games since returning from an upper-body injury, and had been a match-made in heaven with Parise and Pommer. Parise is riding a four point streak, and Pommer has nine in his last 10.

Finally its Mike Modano night in Dallas, pretty balls'y if ya ask me with numerous guests coming to honor his great career. Former teamate Neal Broten and even the elusive Nrom Green. I still think the best part of Modano's career was the Mighty Ducks cameo.

Puck drops in Dallas at 8:30 eastern time and the game can be watched on Fox Sports North and heard on 100.3 FM KFXN in the Twin Cities.
