Wilderness Walk: Game-Day Edition

New, comments

Tonight your Minnesota Wild travel to the (still) frozen North country to take on the Winnipeg Jets.

Bruce Fedyck-USA TODAY Sports

The Minnesota Wild take on a divisional foe tonight in the Winnipeg Jets. The Jets are out of the playoff picture and are playing for pride now while not securing their tee-times on the links.

Despite their goaltending issues, the Jets are definitely not a team you want to sleep on. Jets fans will be out in full force to welcome the Wild into their home and the team will want to put on a show for the Winnipeg faithful. A win tonight would go a long way towards securing the 7th seed in the playoffs as the Dallas Stars lost yesterday to the Florida Panthers.

Speaking of the Dallas Stars, has anyone noticed how their regular-season is scheduled to end? If they keep doing what they're doing, and the Phoenix Coyotes hold up their end of the bargain, the final day of the regular season could feature a "win-and-your-in" game between the Stars and Coyotes in a battle for the 8th seed in the playoffs. This Sunday could be a great day for hockey, I want to see this game mean something.
