Wilderness Walk: "Finally..." Edition

New, comments

Yet another victory for the hockey world.

Last night, Henrik Lundqvist the New York Rangers advanced to the Stanley Cup final with a thrilling 1-0 victory over the Montreal Canadiens. But most importantly, the Montreal Canadiens were eliminated from the playoffs in a demoralizing 1-0 loss to the New York Rangers.

For your average wrestling fan, this series must have been stellar. Much better than that Kings-Hawks series where the coach's aren't developing proper story lines and drama to immerse than fans.

Naturally, I'd take this joke and and run with it until I go clean off a cliff, but it's really just cringe-worthy. How the coach's conducted themselves was a joke and I, as a hockey fan, couldn't be more glad to see the Habs out of contention. The fans didn't exactly help either. I don't think there's a fan base that gets more annoying when they actually have something to cheer about. Yeah, you could say Oilers fans, but that would imply that they have something to cheer about.

But hey, without this series we wouldn't have gotten this gem:

Onto the Walk.

Please don't take away our rink.

I've already written up a piece on this in last Sunday's walk, but please take the time to sign this petition. The local rink I lived by here in Florida changed and sculpted my life, and I'm sure this one has had the same affect on the families of San Mateo, California.

The petition currently needs 455 signatures in order to reach its goal. Let's see if we can put a dent in that, eh Wilderness?
