Wilderness Walk: Blockbuster Trade Edition

New, comments

A look around the league and trying to outdo the T-Wolves.

Anne-Marie Sorvin-USA TODAY Spor

If you live in Minnesota, or watch ESPN, you've no doubt heard of the three way trade our local Timberwolves are engaged in.  Basically, they are moving their best player, Kevin Love, because he has shown no interest in re-signing with the team.  This was all a long time coming, but the return is actually quite surprising.  Love is rumored to be going to the Cleveland Cavaliers for Anthony Bennett and Andrew Wiggins, 2013 and 2014's number one overall picks.

Obviously the NBA is a much different league than the NHL.  However, I was still curious to see what this trade would look like for the Wild.  They would give up their best veteran player (Zach Parise or Ryan Suter arguably) in exchange for Nathan MacKinnon and Sam Bennett.  Naturally the situation would be different if Parise or Suter were entering their final contract year, but let's assume the actual contracts apply.  The situation could also be different had Seth Jones gone number one in 2013 like expected.  What do you think, Wilderness?  Do you take that deal?
