Lets forget about the last one...

Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

Tonight, the Wild return home and welcome the Sharks, as try to forget what happened the last time out. Saturday's loss was ugly - 7-1 ugly. Stu Bickel 39 penalty minutes ugly. Darcy Kuemper getting pulled for the 5th time ugly. Just really really ugly. The only way to forget about that loss - is to do just that. FORGET ABOUT IT! Mike Yeo said Darcy Kuemper will start tonight. Yeo liked what he saw from Kuemper BEFORE the Stars game and knows he can bounce back. Nate Prosser has been hit by the stomach flu/mumps/general-disgusting-virus which has plagued the Wild all year. With Prosser out, Minnesota has recalled Justin Falk from Iowa and he'll most likely dress tonight in his place.

San Jose played last night in Winnipeg with Antti Niemi getting the win. Which means It will most likely be Minnesota native and former UMD Bulldog Alex Stalock starting for the Sharks tonight. Stalock received the win in his first start against Minnesota in December and has never started an NHL game in his home state. We'll get to see some old friends too as; Brent Burns, James Sheppard and John Scott are all members of the Sharks.

Minnesota is 7-0-0 in the last seven meetings played against San Jose at Xcel Energy Center. The Wild’s seven-game win streak against the Sharks in Saint Paul is its longest current home win-streak versus any NHL opponent. San Jose enjoyed success in the final month of 2014, going 9-3-1 in December. Meanwhile, Minnesota has gone 12-12-4 since the start of November. Minnesota posted a 39-24-11 record in the regular season during the 2014 calendar year. This time last year the Wild began a 23-10-7 record from New Year’s on to reach the playoffs. The Wild are going to need a similar result and who knows if it'll be enough. Check back at 6:45 for the gamethread and Go Wild!
