Wilderness Walk: New Week Edition

New, comments

Let's not dwell. Stay positive.

Marilyn Indahl-USA TODAY Sports

It's a new week. I hope hockey is less sad. Maybe December will be less sad. Sure, historically this has not been the case for the past couple years, but this is a new year. New things could happen — new entirely un-sad things. That's certainly possible. They have Parise and Fontaine back. Scandella should be back Tuesday. I'm not going to freak out for at least another week. For my own health, even if there are legitimate reasons to worry. It's fine to ignore those reasons.

Now let's rock out with a band that isn't quite local, but still #oneofus.

Wild News

Wild looks for answers before history repeats itself - StarTribune.com Okay, so I have to admit, I didn't read this. I'm sad enough. I don't hate myself.

Minnesota Wild get a jump on annual early-season swoon - TwinCities.com If I'm not going to read the Minneapolis edition of the Wild being sad why would I read the Saint Paul one?

Bride watches NHL game in wedding dress, devours burger (Video) | Puck Daddy - Yahoo Sports This is in contention for the best moment of the Wild's last game, or possibly the whole home stand? Pomminville's goal was good, but this was pretty cool too.

Off the Trail

Campbell plays hero as Panthers rally vs. Red Wings | theScore.com This was the only NHL game played yesterday. I watched the overtime on my phone while bored at work yesterday, and it was pretty entertaining. Imagine rooting for a team that won overtime games — doesn't that sound strange and fun?

Brendan Gallagher wages Twitter war with old school NHL player | Puck Daddy - Yahoo Sports This was pretty fantastic. Bored injured hockey players on twitter could mean terrible things, but this was cool.

Dubinsky vows to keep playing Crosby hard | theScore.com Just? No? It should have been a longer suspension, should have actually changed something. The Department of Player Safety did a horrible job here.

Report: Carey Price's injury stems from stepping on puck in warmup | theScore.com That's a bummer. Still don't feel bad for the Habs.
