Wilderness Walk: Sparkling and Satisfied Postgame Edition

Last night was fairly fun. Let's bask in it for a moment.

Brad Rempel-USA TODAY Sports

Last night was a really satisfying hockey game to watch. Dubnyk was incredible. The top line continues to be awesome to watch. Putting Coyle with Granlund and Pomminville worked well. Switching Schroeder and Bertschy seemed to be a good move. Schroeder looked good along side Haula and Vanek, while Bertschy was respectable on the first line. He had two shots, and rarely seemed lost. It was a very solid debut, and it's unfortunate they're probably swapping him for Kurtis Gabriel next game. That's a questionable life choice. But all and all, plenty of reasons to feel good. Now we only have to wait until Tuesday for the Wild's next game, which seems very reasonable and unexpected after the halting start of the season.

Okay, so this isn't really from a musical, but I was just reading about Breakfast at Tiffany's, and it really is a perfect song for a contnent Sunday morning, and that's good enough.

Wild News

Wild: Dubnyk sparkles in goal in 1-0 win - The headline writer should be proud of their word choice, I started imaging Dubs covered in glitter. Strong imagery, I'm stealing it.

Wild too close to salary cap to make big deal - Our first candidate for top quote: "We're a steak dinner for six at Manny's away from the cap. So we've got lots of space as long as somebody doesn't order the double baked potato." - Chuck Fletcher

Wild notes: Short stay for Bertschy - Second top quote candidate: "His haircut is not typically Swiss." — Nino Niederreiter. I have no idea what that means, but it's important to my heart.

GM Fletcher says Wild will be careful with Parise - GOOD.
