Arriving at the United Center with a nearly healthy roster, the Wild followed the lead of their Alternate Captain to capture the evening in Chicago, earning sweet redemption for a reeling team against their mortal enemy. Though they could not keep the red-hot American-born NHL points leader off the scoresheet, the Wild did everyone a favor and prevented hearing multiple choruses of the loathful Chelsea Dagger by clicking on defense and holding the Blackhawks to a single tally. To no one's surprise, NHL TOI leader Ryan Suter also played 29+ minutes and scored the game winner in the third period just a day after causing a stir amongst the Wild fan base with his dejected comments about being reunited with Jonas Brodin on the blue line. Suter ended up spending more time on the ice with his season-long partner Jared Spurgeon, but for this one game all was well.
The Wild need to find a way to take this win and create some momentum, as wins are becoming necessary for the team to stay relevant. They get their next shot tomorrow at home against Mike Babcock and the Toronto Maple Leafs.
