Wilderness Walk: Game Day Edition

The Wild square off against the Toronto Maple Leafs for the first time in the Mike Babcock era.

Another day, another senseless shooting.  But for us there is a hockey game to distract us while our thoughts are with the people of San Bernadino.

Mike Babcock takes his first trip to Minnesota behind the bench of the Maple Leafs to square off against the Wild tonight.  The Maple Leafs have struggled predictably following a strange offseason of moving key players and breaking in a new coaching staff.  They are currently last in the Atlantic, but have played better of late, having gone 6-3-1 over their last 10.  There is currently come controversy surrounding their handling of injured netminder Jonathan Bernier, who was previously sought to become a member of the local team once upon a time.  The Wild is looking to build on a good game in which it asserted its brand of hockey and should be expected to beat an inferior Toronto team.  They certainly can't afford to lose games that should be easier wins, or fall into a pattern of losing every other game as in previous seasons.  They currently sit in 5th place in the Central, but have games in hand against the teams ahead of them and a couple of quick wins at home could shoot them up the standings.

I leave you today with a final disco selection as I am about to transition out of that realm.  Let's Walk.
