Wilderness Walk: Losing a Legend Edition

New, comments

Hey there, Wilderness!

I apologize for my absenteeism yesterday morning with the Walk- I was recovering from my trip down to Indianapolis to see the Indy 500. Normally, rednecks with too much beer watching maniacs drive in a circle at 224 mph for 3 hours wouldn't be my thing... but it was actually pretty interesting! I had seems about 20-some rows up by turn 4 (apparently there's more than 2 in an oval?). There were a few crashes right in front of me- got hit by debris flecks- but everyone was ok. Quite an experience.

In any case, on May 21 this year, we lost a legend. A man who revolutionized and innovated a new kind of music. Riley B. King was one of the finest blues guitarists around, and he was one of the originators of the Chicago or Electric Blues. Born to a poor family, he would become known as the Beales Street Blues Boy, which would eventually turn his name to B.B. King.

Rest in Peace, Mr. King.

More importantly, thank you to all who have served in our armed forces, and we at Hockey Wilderness would like to pay our respects to those who have given their lives for us. Thank you.

As we walk, one of my favorites from the King.

Kesler on Ducks' physical barrage vs. Blackhawks: 'No human can withstand that many hits' | theScore
Kesler simultaneously: 1) Shows a lack of understanding that Hockey has evolved since 1910, 2) Makes himself into even more of a doofus than before, and 3) Sets Chicago up to claim "superhuman" status (which, granted, has already been granted to Hossa).

Ducks' Beleskey tired of playing Blackhawks: 'I’m sick of them' | theScore
Poor Beleskey can't handle the Hawks for more than 4 games... I feel BAD for HIM.
