It somehow seems fitting that the Blackhawks go out and force a game seven just one night following the Rangers' same feat. Even on a night when Clayton Stoner scored a goal, the Ducks could not come up with the win. But the Hawks will be facing elimination on the road in Anaheim, instead of in front of it's home crowd like the Rangers. As was mentioned in several places today, the NHL could be facing an unfavorable situation should the Lightning and Ducks advance, as the TV viewership would drop off significantly compared to what a Chicago-New York series could attract. No matter what, game sevens represent everything hockey is about, so this has been a great playoffs to finish an exciting regular season. Tomorrow night is D day for the Rangers and Lightning, and we will know at least one Stanley Cup Finalist at the end of the day tomorrow.
Elsewhere, Pat Micheletti is recovering comfortably following a transplant, the Sharks hired their coach and Dave Hakstol owes North Dakota $100,000 as he leaves for the flyers. Today's Walk begins with mockery of that oh so infernal, infuriating excuse for a song that Chicago blasts as their goal song.
