Wilderness Walk: No More Hockey Edition

Well there you have it, folks. We've reached the offseason, where draft dreams are born, overpaid players are jettisoned and development camps abound. Every day forward now brings you closer to more Minnesota Wild hockey.

It's deja vu all over again.
It's deja vu all over again.

The goals have been scored, the hats have been tossed.  The beers have been drunk, the feels have been felt.  The end of the NHL 20014-15 season is truly upon us.  Regardless of your stance on the result of the Cup Finals you were treated to a fun series, and it is now time to relax, draft a few guys, and reload the cannons.  Welcome to #HotTake season, where impossible dreams are built, only to be destroyed by common sense and the salary cap.  This is the point your team takes on a slightly altered identity, even if the personnel is the same.  Attitudes change.  Teams learn and grow.  Motivations are altered at the beginning of a new season.

Of course we love and embrace every piece of it, and it keeps hockey alive in our daily lives as we count the days until October.  Though this is the end of some things, it is the start of many others and a very exciting time in the NHL.  We've been looking forward to a new season for a month now, and this is a completed step in the journey.  Stay tuned for plenty more draft and free agency news as we move on to the strategic portion of the offseason.  We Walk.
