Wild take Czech goalie, Ales Stezka in Round 4

The athletic goalie will come over to play in Sioux Falls (USHL) next season.

Ales Stezka played for Liberec of the Czech junior leagues the past two seasons. He posted a 21-19 record with a 2.76 GAA and a .913 save percentage. He did, however, post a .948 sv% in 24 games the year prior. The Wild desperately needed a new goalie prospect and the fact that he's coming over to play North American hockey this early should be good for the Wild to monitor his progress.

Standing at 6'3", Stezka is considered an athletic goaltender, and the Wild have been picking big, athletic goaltender prospects going back to Darcy Kuemper.  He plays a hybrid style with good glove and blocker. He is well versed on playing the angles and is positionally sound. Again, all things Wild scouts like in a goaltender. He was ranked the 4th best European goalie by the NHL's Central Scouting and 115th overall by McKeen's Hockey. He did split time and battle with fellow Czech netminder Daniel Vladar.
