Wilderness Walk: Drowning in OT Edition

New, comments

Your Minnesota Wild squad still can't solve the mystery that is 3 on 3 overtime in today's NHL. Is there a light at the end of the tunnel?

Brace Hemmelgarn-USA TODAY Sports

I can make no promises that the Wild will ever solve their overtime woes. They have had chance after chance to bury the puck in the extra frame this season, yet they still cannot muster up a decent record. I don't know what it is to be honest with you. The nice thing to think about is that the team does play well at 5 on 5, and in the playoffs, that is what you will see.

So the Wild lost to the Philadelphia Flyers last night in extra time, with less than a minute separating them from their only hope in OT, the dreaded shootout. It's pretty embarrassing really that a team with as much talent as the Wild have would be desperate for the circus that is a shootout, but it is what it is.

Up next for the Wild, they will travel down to the great state of Texas to take on the conference leading Dallas Stars on Saturday. 7 PM start and it's going to be so cold here you won't want to be outside anyway, so maybe watch the game and stop by our gamethread for some puck talk with your favorite Hockey Wilderness regulars!

Being that we haven't had an explosion of trades in the past 24 hours, not a whole lot of note going on around the league, so I'll leave you with this gem from the late 90's. Please welcome Fuel to the stage folks!
