Last year around this time, the Wild was a team that would have found a way to continue to build on their resurgence and come out firing against a tough Islanders team. We got used to seeing this team flip the switch and continuously find ways to win while not finding ways to lose. This team has basically the same personnel, so it might have been easy to believe this year's team could pick up where last year's left off. And maybe it still will. The Islanders are far too good a team to consider this a "trap game" and this game was set up for a big let down following a successful road trip followed by an absolutely enormous Stadium Series game. The adrenaline has now worn off, and the normal rules apply. How this team responds to tonight's loss will tell us a lot about what we've been seeing the last 10 days and what we can expect over the final 20 games. The Wild can still regroup and make a statement with point production out of their upcoming back-to-back roadtrip to Philadelpia and Washington.
