Wilderness Walk: Game Day Edition

New, comments

In Brooklyn, the Wild put the puck in the net but forgot how to defense. What new way will they find to lose tonight at Madison Square Garden?

The Swoon is long and the hole is deepening.  The fans don't even know who to blame anymore, but the only way anything will change will be to play the games.  And that will happen tonight at Madison Square Garden as the Wild continue their sprint toward the playoffs while trying to pull out of their sinking spiral.  But this plane has no eject button, and hockey will continue to be played.  So while the Wild continue to hunt for their game like younger versions of ourselves used to look for Waldo, we can only continue to hope that the little man with a toque and striped shirt reveals himself to this team.

The Wild face another challenge against a team it shares some memorable games with, most notably a 5-goal third period by the Rangers to unseat a 3-0 Wild lead last time Minnesota visited Madison Square Garden.  The Wild did get redemption and defeated the Rangers earlier this season at the X 5-2.  So, the results between the two clubs have been all over the board.  It will be interesting to see which adventure the Wild choose tonight.

This graph represents the Wild's plummeting playoff chances, to give some perspective it had been in the 80's for through December.
