The buyout window opens, and moves begin to be made. Jared Cowen was the first casualty as the Toronto Maple Leafs placed him on waivers with the intent to buy him out. Fellow buyout candidate and Wild killer Bryan Bickell dodged his buyout (at least for today) as Carolina traded their second and third round picks to Chicago for Bickell and young Teuvo Teravainen. This is a splashy move for a team with some cap room that could still buy Bickell out while the window is open. These moves are the tip of the ice berg, but demonstrate the type moves likely to be found over the next several days leading up to the draft.
Speaking of draft... did you know we're having a PARTY? You did? Ok, good. Well, here's a live preview of the evening's musical entertainment from last night's practice. Enjoy. See you all next Friday.
