Call my cynical.... but the Wild signed another forward to a three-year contract yesterday, and the last two guys to do that were bought out.................... so we know what awaits Eric Staal.

Seriously, I think the Wild did about as well in free agency as we could have hoped- they didn’t sign anyone to a long contract, they didn’t sign anyone to a big contract, and they didn’t sign Backes or Okposo.

The $1.15 million dollar price tag for each of his two years here means there won't be much pressure on Stewart, and we'll likely see him featured in the bottom 6 on most nights, but I think this is a solid signing that gives good depth to the Wild forward ranks, without too much cost or years.
