The Wild has been anxiously awaiting the return of Zach Parise from a back injury that has kept the star forward sidelined for the entirety of the ’17-’18 season so far. But Parise took a huge step forward last night, playing in his first professional hockey of the year in a rehab stint with the AHL’s Iowa Wild. After the game, which ended in Iowa losing 6-3 to the Rockford IceHogs, Parise shared his plan with Michael Russo:
Parise indicated plan is he won’t play this weekend for #mnwild but hopes to play by homestand that starts Jan. 2. He did say he’s looking at possibly New Year’s Day game here, but I’m (me talking) not positive that’ll be allowed by NHL.

This is big-time stuff. This is an actual, honest-to-goodness timeline for a Parise return to the NHL. I find it very exciting.
Everything is alright, and Motion City Soundtrack reminds us of that while taking us through today’s Walk.
