Let’s go over some news and notes:
- Hockey is (kind of) officially here! Wild prospects played a couple games against Stars and Blue Jackets youngsters this weekend, and they’ll be back in action this evening against Rangers prospects. [Hockey Wilderness]
- It’s pretty fair to say that the Vikings would not have won yesterday if it wasn’t for this friendly encouragement from the Wild.

Off the trail...
- Jumbo’s back! Joe Thornton agreed to a one-year contract worth $2 million on Friday. [Fear The Fin]
- Jake Gardiner finally signed somewhere. After eight years with the Maple Leafs, Gardiner is headed down to Carolina to join the Hurricanes. [Canes Country]
- Everybody on Twitter made fun of the NHL’s “Be Different” ad so much that they were forced to delete it. [Vancouver Courier]
- Kendall Coyne Schofield is joining the Sharks’ broadcast team this season, which is extremely cool.
