It’s always that good time of year, where we can all put on our hockey fashion critic lenses and look down on any ugly designs other clubs decide to do and then obviously praise our favorite teams for looking snazzy.
For the Minnesota Wild, they couldn’t really go wrong with the color palette they are afforded and the ol’ timey attitude of the NHL’s annual Winter Classic game. And they certainly went head-first into the traditional look.
Going hard into the theme of green, red, and an off-white cream color, the Wild bring it all the way back to the state-shaped emblem surrounded by titles of the Twin Cities.
And even to go a step further, the gloves and pants are in a color to no doubt replicate the old leather equipment that was worn a century ago, but in a very tasteful way. I am no expert, but I am in love with the whole set up.

The Wild will be wearing these threads when they face the St. Louis Blues at Target Field, but the time and date of this game is still unknown, even with the little hints being dropped.
While it has not yet been confirmed, Michael Russo reported earlier this week that the Winter Classic game between the Wild and the Blues might be the first to head to primetime — opting to play on New Year’s Eve instead of New Year’s Day during the middle of the day.
