Wilderness Walk: Meltdown Continues Edition

Snow is falling in the Twin Cities, but the Wild's meltdown continues.

Brace Hemmelgarn-USA TODAY Sports

There's really not much to say.  Same old story, an uneven effort over three periods, an early lead was lost, Devan Dubnyk was pulled with 15 minutes left in the third, lines were scrambled, a coach's challenge failed, the WIld took their foot off the gas.  The result was exactly as they deserved.

There was some positivity in the form of Nino Niederreiter continuing to pay back the team that dumped him, Charlie Coyle keeping hot, and Jason Pominville scoring a quality goal.  The Wild put up 20 shots in the first period, but only 18 beyond.  It was tough to watch for a team that is now looking up at a Wild card spot and not having many answers for the woes.  The sprint to the playoffs continues at Madison Square Garden on Thursday against the New York Rangers

We've talked about the Wild's recent hiring of the War on Ice team, who were able to get some work in with Mike Yeo during the All-Star break and I found his comments intriguing, and hoping their influence will grow as Yeo stuck to his pre-break plan and got similar results from his team.

At this point, there is no end in sight.  So as we Walk I present to you with a bullet, R.E.M:
